One of the best hidden gems in Maui. Very centrally located and very quiet. Rooms are small but cozy. The pol area is great. We have stayed here 3 times and it’s our favorite. Not really for kids but that’s not a bad thing (our stayed back home with family). Host is wonderful. Don’t listen to those negative reviews and they don’t have any class and would complain about the taxes if they won the lottery. A must stay

My husband and I stayed for 8 nights in April. Great location for home base exploring Maui. Maureen is a great host allowing privacy yet readily available when needed. We stayed in the Wasabi Suite. It was perfect for a week stay and incredibly CLEAN. We appreciated the kitchenette amenity along with the Beach accessories for use free of charge. Cooler, beach towels, chairs, umbrella. Also was snorkeling gear and boogie boards we didn't use. We appreciated the off street free parking as well which was not available at all of the places we stayed when visiting Hawaii on other islands. The binder in the room was helpful with recommendations of local restaurants and beaches, things to do. We found our favorite restaurant this way and visited it 4 of the 8 nights we were there! We will stay again if fortunate enough to get back to Maui. Onsite laundry and pool were also very nice and much appreciated.

I'm so happy I found this place, I would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in Maui. The room was very nice, it had all the amenities we needed during our stay. Fridge, microwave, dishes, small oven, hot kettle pot, even dish soap to wash our dishes. Maureen was amazing, she was very responsive and answered all our questions before and during our stay. They have beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, cooler and even beach towels for us to use. This definitely made our beach days so much better. I can't wait to come back. Plus it's local to restaurants and grocery stores.

We loved our stay in the Plantation Room. It is exactly as described. This property overall was well maintained and an absolute steal for Maui price wise. The best was location - several of our (new) favorite restaurants/cocktail bars (the Parlay and Esters Fair Project) are just a short walk down the street, along with coffee etc. we come to Maui primarily to surf and so spend all day out and about - this was a great spot to rest our heads at the end of the day!

This guesthouse was just the ticket when I extended my trip to Maui for four additional days and needed a new place to stay. Maureen was very sweet - gave me lots of good recommendations on where to eat locally and was very responsive to questions/requests that I had. The room itself (Plantation Room) was fine size for me - might be a bit small for two people, but if you're traveling solo and don't need a ton of space it's fine. It's nothing fancy, but clean, quiet, with a decent sized bathroom, and also there's a beautiful pool area in the back of the property open to guests. Price can't be beat for Maui - I checked. I want to emphasize: it was actually a GREAT DEAL price-wise for what you get. I'd say location-wise the only significant drawback is that it's not super close to the tourist beaches (e.g. beaches near Kihei or West Maui). For me the location was actually pretty central for what I wanted to do on the remainder of my trip - Haleakala Crater, Road to Hana, Waihe'e Trail, 'Iao Needle, Maui Swap Meet...these were all relatively close to Wailuku. Also, I liked walking around the small downtown area of Wailuku - easily walkable from the Guesthouse itself. So...I guess I would say...if you're a tourist who wants to be right on the beach, with spa services and a hot tub, then you probably should stay at one of the big resorts in Wailea or Ka'anapali...and you'll be paying $900+ per night for that. But if you're relatively low maintenance and want to prioritize having a clean and quiet room in a safe and central location, that's a great jumping off point for exploring what the island has to offer, then I'd recommend checking out this place...for 1/4 of the price of those expensive resorts. And say hi to the cute little orange cat that's always hanging out by the front gate! :)

We had a great stay at the Wailuku Guesthouse. The location, grounds and pool were beautiful! We walked to get coffee every morning, and we could walk to many restaurants for dinner. It was quiet and cool in the room, and Maureen cut fresh fruit for us that was delicious. The Wailuku Guesthouse is a great location for day trips to Haleakalā, Iao Valley, and many, many beaches.
